GMC is dedicated to pushing the limits of what is possible. GMC is committed to one ideal, which is building professional grade vehicles that are engineered to offer the best in performance, innovation, and versatility. This is why the 2013 GMC Yukon is engineered to keep you comfortably in command without having to compromise anything.
The 2013 GMC Yukon is available with three different engines. The first being the 5.3 liter Vortec V8 engine that has 320 horsepower and 335 lb-ft of torque. The 5.3 liter is able to boast 21 miles per gallon on the highway. The next engine available for the 2013 GMC Yukon is the 6.2 Liter Vortec V8 engine which has 403 horsepower and 417 lb-ft of torque. The 6.2 liter is able to obtain between 15 and 18 miles per gallon depending on whether you use gas or E-85. Then the ¾ ton Yukon models have the option of the 6.0 liter Vortec V8 engine which has 352 horsepower and 382 il-ft of torque. The 6.0 liter can get up to 16 miles per gallon on highway.
The 2013 GMC Yukon has two engines that use a system called Active Fuel Management. Active Fuel Management deactivates four cylinders when all eight are not needed. If the load on the Yukon is light the Active Fuel Management system deactivates four cylinders for the purpose of Fuel Economy. Those four cylinders reactivate seamlessly when all eight cylinders are needed.
Another nice feature all the engines in the 2013 Yukon have are the Variable Valve Timing or VVT. This allows the engine’s performance profile to match the driving conditions. In city driving VVT gives your vehicle smooth idle and quick response at slow speeds. On highway the VVT gives your vehicle the bold, high performance from the V8 engine with horsepower to spare.
The transmission coupled with these engines is a 6 speed electronic shifting transmission with Automatic Grade Braking. Two other features that can help the driver feel more confident are the Driver Shift Control and the Tow / Haul Mode. Automatic Grade Braking is a system that automatically senses when you want to slow down and when certain conditions are met the engine engages a Grade Braking schedule that helps you maintain your desired speed. The Tow / Haul Mode feature changes transmission points to reduce shift actions while trailering or driving up or down hills. The Driver Shift Control allows the driver to manually shift through the gears like a manual transmission.
Some of the Available exterior options the 2013 GMC Yukon has is the Power – retractable mirror, Power Lift Gate, and Power – Retractable assist steps. The Power – Retractable mirrors are standard the 2013 GMC Yukon Denali and Hybrid. The power retractable mirrors are Available on the Yukon SLT model. The power retractable mirrors are heated to remove snow and frost, are automatically dimming to reduce glare and they also have turn indicators in them. All the 2013 GMC Yukons are equipped with assist steps to give you a strong foothold for easy entry. The 2013 Yukon Denali offer Available Power – Retractable steps. The Power Retractable lift gate is Available for the high echelon models as well. The power lift gate has remote access from the keychain as well as a button on the rear hatch to activate it.
The 2013 GMC Yukon has a Five Star Overall Side Crash Safety Rating. This is attained by the Dual stage front airbags, the Side Impact airbags for the Thorax and The Pelvic of the outboard front seat occupants The Head Curtain Side Impact airbags that stretch all three rows of the cabin.
The Trim levels available for the 2013 GMC Yukon are the SLE, SLT, and Denali. The 2013 GMC Yukon encompasses the perfect mixture of performance, safety, and luxury.
